Holy cow it’s already February! Where did the time go?! If
this is how the semester is going to be I am NOT prepared.
Meanwhile
Here’s what has been happening!
AOII had their first function of the semester! The theme was
Wild Wild West and it was super, super fun! We donned our best western wear and
danced the night away at Power House in Fayetteville. Although, I must say, and
I think this is because I’m from Louisiana and we just don’t wear stuff like
this, but I feel like the western wear rejected me a little bit. I don’t know.
It’s probably in my own head, but this was one of the rare times that I just
didn’t feel good in the costume.
We started Greek Sing rehearsals! For those who don’t know,
Greek Sing is an event put on by the university Greek life. Fraternities are
paired with sororities and we prepare 10 minute mini musicals that go with a
theme. This year’s theme is 80s and our band is Guns and Roses and that is all
I am going to say about that. We are paired with Sigma Nu fraternity and so far
it is going pretty well. We have a lot of talented people working SUPER hard so
I think we will do a great job! We are the reigning champs after all so we want
a repeat!!
Unfortunately Greek Sing is a little bittersweet for me. I
LOVE Greek Sing. I love everything about it. I love the dancing, performing,
singing. It’s kind of my jam. However, Greek Sing is how I met Nick and first
started to maybe have a crush on him. I thought going into the first practice I
would be totally fine because I have been really okay with things since pretty
much New Years, but those little emotions snuck up on me and I did get a little
sad after the first night. But now it is out of my system and I am still
COMPLETELY excited about Greek Sing. And apparently several people saw this
coming and failed to warn me (AHEM* you know who you are ;) )
Schola had its first mini-concert, which was a SMASHING
success. If you’re in the Fayetteville, Bentonville, or Little Rock area the
second week of March you should DEFINITELY come check us out.
So that’s what happened in January! Until next time!
PS. I want to make a little shout out to my friend,
Elizabeth Hood. I know and love that she always reads this and I love her
dearly!
