First Day of School!

I have a love/hate relationship with the first day of school. I love it because it’s exciting and I have new classes and it’s fun to see who is in my classes. I hate it because, let’s face it, it’s school. But, like I said, I am looking forward to my classes.

Which brings us to my first day assessment of my classes.

Russian History
I am SUPER excited for this class. This is the second section of this class, and I took the first last semester and LOVED it. I don’t know why but for some reason I LOVE Russian history. It’s so different from other countries and there’s just so much to it. My professor is from Russia and seems really nice. I don’t think this class will be as hard as the first section but I don’t really care. I love Russian history.

Ethics
I’m not going to lie.  Going into this semester I was NOT looking forward to this class. I didn’t feel like I needed to take it, and I didn’t understand why it was required. However, after the first day I don’t think that is going to matter. My professor is AWESOME. He’s really into what he teaches and it is obvious that he loves what he is doing, which I like in a teacher. He’s a little nerdy, but that’s okay. Aren’t we all?

French
Ah French. My third semester of French. How I hate this class. I hate everything about it. I don’t pick it up easily AT ALL, and it frustrates me to no end because I try REALLY hard. My professor is pretty nice, even though she yelled at me for not speaking in French on the first day of class. SORRY ‘BOUTCHA it’s the first day give me a break! Hopefully I will be able to get through my last semester of language smoothly and without too much frustration.

Schola
I love being in Schola. I love the people in it. Most of the time, I love the music. And I love challenging myself musically. I am definitely looking forward to our FULL concert schedule this semester. More on that later…

History of the Modern Middle East
I’m hesitant about this class. My professor seems nice, and I have heard that he is an easy professor, but I just don’t know if I’m going to like this class. The middle east is just not a region of the world that particularly interests me history wise so I’m hoping that this wont make it too boring. I don’t know. We’ll see how this class goes. The good thing is I don’t think it will be too hard, so that is promising.

Antebellum America
I’m definitely excited for this class. I love this time period in American history. I love that a lot of it is in my home state. Growing up I took many a field trip to plantation homes across Louisiana and I loved every second of it. My professor seems really cool. I think this class won’t be too hard but I don’t think it will be too easy either. Who knows. I’m looking forward to it.

So at the risk of this post being ANY longer (thanks for sticking around if you’re still reading!) I’m going to wrap this up. That’s a little overview of how I feel about my classes this semester.

Until next time!
